PTA suspends the mobile device blocking process in view of Coronavirus. Releasing the details, PTI said that in order to ensure the reduction of Coronavirus and to reduce social interaction, all GSM-approved IMEIs on mobile networks that are not currently registered with PTA.
The PTA has been given 30 more days for registration of IMEI, after which registration can now be made in 90 days instead of 60 days. PTA officials say the decision was made to facilitate and facilitate the public.
It should be noted that PTA introduced the Device Identification Registration Blocking System (DIRBS), which means that all devices that are connected to any local mobile phone network through Local SIM will be localized for the first time.
Must be registered within 60 days of using the network. Blocking of unverified mobile devices that were supposed to be blocked between March 18 and April 18, 2020, will now be blocked according to their due dates from April 19, 2020.
It is important to note that for the convenience of the consumer, PTA has introduced three different ways for registration of mobile devices including website (https://dirbs.pta.gov.pk/drs), dialing * 8484 # and There are mobile operators, franchisees and service centers across Pakistan.
